Papers. 1847-1948.

Papers of a southern Louisiana family. Chiefly papers of Albert Voohies (1829-1913) who served as state lieutenant-governor (1865-1867) and long-time member of the state bar. The papers reflect his interest in state politics, his involvement in the court system especially of Orleans Parish, and his writings on legal theory and state legal practices. There is also material on other members of the Voohies family.
